Re-orientation + Laser Tag

Hey guys! I hope semester two has been treating you well!
If it has been lacklustre so far, shame on you for not coming to UMSA's reorientation/laser tag :P

For re-orientation, UMSA has collaborated with our neighbour across the straits (figuratively), the Singapore Students' Association (SSA).

Despite a foggy start to the morning, many turned up for re-orientation, which was held in the Auckland Domain. Things turned for the better when the sun finally appeared an hour into the event.
(We do know how erratic Auckland's weather can get, don't we?)

Some challenges of the day include: skipping rope with a twist, "chicken fight", Twister, and piggybacking/popcorn eating.

It's always delightful to see new faces joining UMSA.
New semester, new experiences, new friendships; how exciting!

Stay tuned to UMSA's Facebook page for more event updates.
Till then, stay awesome!

Ice-breaking: Double Whacko!

Uh oh!

Fighting over the one. #truelove

Does it remind you of THIS? :P

Things escalated quickly and more people are fighting over the one #truelove.

One of the more challenging activities: getting five people jumping rope simultaneously.

Teamwork at its best!

Sneaky!

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

The force is strong with you, young one!

Limited edition popcorn with Sriracha sauce!

The winning team! Congrats!

UMSA x SSA committee <3
All smiles! :)

A quick shout out to the lucky 40 of you who've managed to score tickets to Laser Tag held in Megazone, Mt Wellington last week. That was a pew-tiful night (Get it? Tee hee).

Makan Night 2015

The highlight of UMSA's event in the first semester is Makan Night, hands down.
Rindu kampung halaman di perantauan
When familiar faces were spotted and new friends were made, homesick blues begone!

Guests were treated to a galore of Malaysian delicacies, including satay, nasi lemak, roti canai and apam balik, accompanied by various cultural performances presented by our very talented UMSA members.

Many thanks to everyone who has attended Makan Night, including our sponsors who have made the event a huge success. Stay tuned to UMSA's Facebook page for updates on second semester activities.
Till then, enjoy your well-deserved winter break!

So great to see many of you!!!
Hosts of the night!
Lion Dance to welcome the guests. Also drowns out rumbling hungry tummies. :P
That moment when food is finally served!

From joget (traditional Malay dance) to hip hop, Indian dance to singing, a mix of traditional and modern cultural performances were great accompaniment to the delicious Malaysian dishes served.

Throughout the evening, various prizes were also awarded to winners for the lucky draw and UMSA's Instagram competition.

UMSA committee: the people behind Makan Night.
Countless sleep-deprived days and endless dedication poured in to bring you
the best "Taste Like Home" experience. *salute*
